Terms and conditions for the Secondary School environmental competition to make:
A 2 minute video with sound alerting people to the climate emergency
Here’s what we need and a few rules
- You need to be in Key Stage 3, 4 or 5 and live in the Desford area
- You need to tell us which school you’re at and which key stage
- Entries must be made online to mail@greenlivesgreenplanet.org and be submitted by 31st September 2021
- Your video can be up to 2 minutes long – but no longer! We won’t judge anything over 2 mins
- You can send in up to 250 words of text to accompany it
- You’ll need to have full copyright to the submitted material including music if used
- If you’re interviewing anyone or featuring anyone prominently then we’ll need to see written permission that they’re happy being on the video
- The videos must not include any product endorsements or contain obscene, violent, racist or defamatory content; Also we won’t be able to judge incomplete entries
- A maximum number of 2 entries per person will be allowed
- The judges will be looking for an inspiring submission which is creative and engaging and the criteria will include:
- Relevance of the entry to the competition topic
- Creativity
- Strength of the message
- Technical ability
- The judging panel be made up of 3 committee members of Green Lives Green Planet with head judge being Mark Shardlow who is a freelance journalist who spent more than 30 years working for the BBC, specialising in Olympic and Paralympic sport and also as the first regional Environment Correspondent working for the BBC
- The judges’ decision as to the winner is final for each key stage and no correspondence relating to the award will be entered in to
- The winners of each key stage will receive £50 and an interview and feedback session with Mark Shardlow
- All winners must agree to take part in any post-award publicity if required
- The organisers reserve the right to
- vary the closing date for nominations
- disqualify entrants who breach the rules
- cancel or vary the awards or any of the judging processes or criteria at any stage if it is deemed necessary
- Entrants will be deemed to have accepted these terms and conditions and be bound by them
